30 Down, 10 To Go...

It feels SO WEIRD to say I only have 10 weeks left!! Next week it will be single digits!! The second half of this pregnancy is zooming by and every time I blink I am closer and closer to being a mom!

I had my 30 week check-up today and everything is looking good. I am measuring right on track and as of the last 2 visits, her head is down. There's a chance she could turn before she runs out of room but I'm keeping my fingers crossed she stays where she is. She is doing a lot of flipping from side to side though... last night I watched what I'm pretty sure was her little butt ripple across the top of my belly as she rolled over. I am still feeling really good and really enjoying the 80 degree weather we've been having instead of what would normally be in the high 90's by now! My only complaint is that my hips really hurt when I sleep. Whichever hip I am laying on starts to throb so badly it wakes me up. Between flipping from side to side with my giant body pillow and getting up 3 times a night to pee, I'm afraid I'm going to be banished to the guest room soon so my poor husband can get a full night's sleep! I can't complain too much though...if that's the worst thing I've had to deal with during this whole pregnancy, I know I'm one of the really lucky ones! :)

Bob Villa's Got Nothin' On Me!

My dad wanted to get us a piece of furniture for Hailey so he decided on the crib and it arrived today!! Of course, it arrived in pieces in a giant flat box...but less than one hour later it looks like THIS!! That's right, 7 1/2 months pregnant and I did it all by myself! It is SO exciting to have this essential piece of furniture put together and in the room, it's getting more and more real by the day.

My dad also got the bedding set to go with the crib. It arrived a few days ago and I just LOVE IT! I can't wait until the whole room is put together!

My next project will be putting together the recliner and ottoman my mom got for the room. It's currently in a lovely brown box because we still have a futon in the baby's room that needs to stay until my baby shower so I can host more than one out of town guest. After that it will be donated to a good home (my friend Brittaney's) and then the room will be 100% Haileys!

29 Weeks

I got a request for a new belly pic so....here it is! I'm not sure it's changed much since last week but I like to keep my readers happy! :)

I met my potential pediatrician today...a very exciting step! I liked her a lot and it feels good to be checking these important preparations off my list. Next up, my crib delivery and assembly!

No! Sleep! 'Til Brooklyn!!

I have officially reached the "baby pressing all her might against my bladder" portion of the pregnancy. Last night I literally had to get up EVERY SINGLE HOUR OF THE NIGHT to pee. At 1:30 in the morning, after my 4th trip to the bathroom, I finally decided to move into the guest room so my poor husband could get some actual sleep.

On the bright side, today was my last day of work!!! And the best part? I got everything done! I prepped 12 weeks of work for 18 different students, plus a few extra lessons just in case my sub gets through the work more quickly than I anticitpated. I plan to come back for 5 days of work when school starts in August, but we'll see if little miss Hailey has other ideas. Just in case I don't make it back, EVERYTHING is ready for my sub to step in. It is such a relief to know that I am DONE, DONE, DONE and can now commence enjoying my summer!! Woo Hoo!!

Earthopotamus

Yesterday marked my 7th month! I can't believe I've come this far already. The first few months went so slowly and now it seems like they're speeding by! I alternate daily between excitement and disbelief that in a mere 83 days I will have a daughter. And I'm pretty sure she's gonna be a ninja based on all the roundhouse kicks to my ribs I'm getting these days. The belly also seems to be growing daily. Bryan gets home from work every day and is shocked by how pregnant I look. I asked him the other day if I look like an earth goddess or a hippopotamus and he diplomatically responded that I look like an earthopotamus. Obviously I walked right into that one!

In other news, I only have 5 MORE DAYS OF WORK LEFT!! I am so excited to start my summer vacation, especially since I am starting to get a bit more uncomfortable and the temperature is making me want to spend every spare minute submerged in the pool. Unfortunately, my last week of work is going to be a tad stressful due to the 3 MONTHS worth of lessons for 18 different students I need to prep for my sub to do while I am on maternity leave. Aaarrrgggghhhh!!!

Peek A Boo!

On Friday my mom and I went to my 3D ultrasound appointment. I was really excited because I've seen pictures of my friends' 3D ultrasounds and thought they were amazing! The detail is incredible and I was dying to see what her little face looks like. The ultrasound was SO MUCH FUN! She was moving around and smiling for us like crazy! She also opened her mouth several times and looked like she was yawning. She likes to have her hands up by her face and I had to jiggle around a little to get her to put them down so we could see her face. I got a cd with all the still pictures they took and I also got a dvd of the whole ultrasound session set to music. I got to share them with Bryan when we got home and I know it will be a really special thing that I will get to share with Hailey when she is older.

Since my mom was here, I also chose this weekend to do my baby registry. I was SOOOOO grateful that she wanted to do the registry with me because Bryan certainly didn't and it's way more fun to do it with someone. We had the BEST time picking out all the cute baby stuff and she was such a trooper. It took a REALLY long time but she never complained and never got bored. Thanks Mom!!

Just Kickin' It

I know it's been a while since the last post, but really, after news that big I had a hard time getting motivated to write about anything else! So... I figured I'd update with some random stuff to keep from getting too far behind. Here's the scoop:

I am officially 6 months pregnant! I still feel great and I am truly trying to savor every moment. I have dreamt about being pregnant and becoming a mom since I was a kid and I realize that this is going to be the only time I'll be pregnant for the first time. I hope to have another child at some point, but I know that being pregnant while taking care of another child changes the experience.

The biggest new development that I'm enjoying at the moment is that I can feel her kicking like crazy! I've felt movement for the last few weeks, but over the last week or so they have gotten MUCH stronger. I can actually see my stomach move when she kicks and I finally get to share it with Bryan because he can put his hand on my belly and we can feel her kick together. She seems to move around the most when I am lying down at night and in the morning. Last night I was lying on the couch reading and I swear she was doing Riverdance in there!! It's the coolest/weirdest feeling, especially when she's tap dancing on my bladder. That part's super fun.

I am also still craving fruit like nobody's business. Every night for the past 2 weeks I've been indulging in a huge bowl of strawberries and (light) whipped cream for dessert. Delicious!! I also just found out that the local farmer's market starts this Friday, so I absolutely expect my fridge to soon be about 90% filled with fruit.

In other news, last weekend I went to visit my BFF Amy in Chicago. It's been a whole year since the last time I was out there so I was really glad I got a chance to go see her again before the baby comes. We were super low-key this trip, mostly watching old episodes of Friends and deciding what we were going to eat next. It was fabulous! Unfortunately I started off the trip with a little snag when the airline lost my luggage. I had to gate check my roller bag because the flight was so full and the stressed-out flight attendant put the wrong destination on my tag. Normally this would be mildly irritating, however there was the small fact that I need my maternity clothes! Luckily, my bag was found and delivered to me by 3:00pm the next day. Crisis averted! We also totally lucked out with a GORGEOUS day on Friday! Amy lives right near the lake so we went for a walk after brunch and I got to see what it looks like without a giant sheet of ice on top!

I think that pretty much catches us up to date...except for one last thing. My friend and fellow blogger Joanna "tagged" me to take a picture of myself immediately (no primping, no fluffing) and post it on the blog. I actually read her "tag" on Saturday night and did follow the rules and took a picture immediately...I just haven't gotten around to posting it until now.
